On December 18-21, 2017 the 12th Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2017) was held in Geneva, Switzerland. The Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan was present at the opening of the Forum. On behalf of the Armenian IGF, the IGC Secretary Grigori Saghyan and Secretariat member Lianna Galstyan also participated and contributed to the event.
The meeting was attended by 2019 onsite participants, from 142 countries, representing all stakeholder groups and regions. 32 remote hubs were organised around the world, with 1661 stakeholders participating online. The largest number of online participants came from the following countries: United States, Switzerland, Nigeria, China, India, Brazil, France, United Kingdom and Mexico.
The third annual Armenian Internet Governance Forum, ArmIGF 2017, was held on October 2, 2017 in Yerevan, Armenia. It was organized by the IGC with the support of the MTCIT of Armenia and the ISOC Armenia. The forum brought together around 130 participants of all stakeholder groups from Georgia, the Netherlands, Russia and Switzerland (remotely). 94.6% of all participants were from Armenia.
The purpose of the Forum was to provide an open platform for discussions where IT professionals and the community could reveal the emerging issues and outline their possible solutions. The one-day event was fully scheduled with reports and panel sessions.

On behalf of the Armenian IGF, the IGC Secretariat member Lianna Galstyan took part in the 11th annual meeting of Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2016) in Guadalajara, Mexico on December 6-9, 2016. Along with other Coordinators/Liaisons of the National and Regional IGF Initiatives (NRIs), she participated to the NRIs Main Session which was livestreamed and translated in 6 UN languages.
